Gubernatorial, State Superintendent Candidates to Debate at UW Tuesday
Candidates for Wyoming governor and state superintendent of public instruction will debate Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom.
The forum, sponsored by the Associated Students of UW (ASUW) and Wyoming Public Radio (WPR), begins at 6 p.m. with the state superintendent candidates followed by the governor's debate at 7 p.m. WPR News Director Bob Beck will be the forum's moderator. The debate will be rebroadcast the following day on all WPR stations from noon-2 p.m.
Candidates that were certified by the Secretary of State's office have confirmed they will be at the forum. Republican Cindy Hill of Cheyenne and Democrat Mike Massie of Laramie are running for state superintendent of public instruction. Debating in the governor's forum will be Republican Matt Mead of Cheyenne, Democrat Leslie Peterson, of Jackson, and Libertarian candidate Mike Wheeler of Casper.
