The Student Health Service still has seasonal flu shots for faculty and staff. This
shot will protect against seasonal flu (and includes protection against H1N1 influenza.
This service is offered to currently employed benefited staff and faculty. We regret
we are unable to provide this service to children, spouses, retirees and non-benefited
staff.
Anyone who wants to decrease the risk of contracting influenza should get vaccinated.
The CDC recommends everyone get a flu shot and be protected against this illness that
causes significant fever, muscle pain, cough and sore throat, and can lead to pneumonia
and other severe complications.
Please Wear a Short Sleeved Shirt and you will need to wait 20 minutes after receiving
the immunization to make certain you have no reaction.
You can come by the Student Health Service from 8-11:30 a.m. (9 a.m. opening on Thursdays)
and 1-4:30 p.m. to receive a flu shot.
The cost for the flu immunization is $21. If you are covered under Great West insurance,
the Student Health Service is willing to file your claim. You Will Need to Provide
Your Name, Name of Insured and Great West Id Number at the time you get your immunization.
If you prefer to file yourself, or you are not covered by Great West, you can pay
by cash or check and you will get a billing statement for insurance purposes.

For those who want FluMist, the nasal flu vaccine (http://www.immunize.org/vis/liveflu.pdf):
the cost is $28. and the vaccine is available at the Student Health Service. You must
pay for FluMist and submit the claim to Great West or other insurance company.
