The University of Wyoming Department of Music's Pan Band performs a free concert Monday,
Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center concert hall.
The program will feature Caribbean steel drum music. International steel drum virtuoso,
Tom Miller, will join the band as guest artist. He has performed and recorded with
musicians such as Grammy award winners, Allison Krause and the late John Denver.
Miller's playing has been featured on film scores for the movies "Commando" and "Nina
Takes a Lover," as well as in television advertisements. He has also produced and
mixed several critically acclaimed steel band recordings for his own group, Pan Ramajay.
His composing talents have earned him five grants from the prestigious Meet the Composer
Foundation, and he has served as an artist-in-residence at numerous universities and
colleges throughout the United States. Miller is currently an adjunct faculty member
of the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.
