Wyoming Entrepreneur and Casper Area Chamber of Commerce Present "Basic Bookkeeping Seminar," Oct. 26

Nobody likes to keep books, but what if the IRS decides to take a look at your business records?

A class on bookkeeping basics will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the Small Business Development Center classroom, 300 S. Wolcott, Ste. 300 in Casper. Registration fee is $15, and deadline to register is Oct. 19.

Topics will include the basics of accounting, what papers to keep in the "paperless office" and why financial statements are important. Also, some quick tips will be discussed that will make a difference in your bookkeeping.

Barbara Harkins of CPA Consulting Group will teach the class. Harkins operated her own tax and bookkeeping company for more than 25 years, serving a wide range of businesses in the Casper area. She has a master's degree in finance and accounting from Tulane University and is a QuickBooks pro adviser.

Wyoming Entrepreneur is a business consulting group, consisting of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center , Wyoming Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the Wyoming Market Research Center. Counseling and most market research services are free of charge to Wyoming residents.
