The expanded Coe Library is designed to reflect student learning styles.
The major expansion and addition to UW's William Robertson Coe Library is among the projects highlighted in the Library Journal's 2010 Year in Architecture.
"These new and remodeled academic spaces provide students and faculty with a landscape for success," the journal notes in its academic section.
Dedicated in fall, 2009, Coe Library meets student demands for integrated learning that combines information, technology and assistance in a modern facility. Information is packaged in a variety of formats including printed and electronic books, online journals, database, and media such as recordings, music and movies.
New spaces within Coe Library, designed to reflect student's learning styles, include flexible study space, quiet study spaces and the integration of technology with instruction services.
