She takes pride in our open-door policy, friendly atmosphere and ability to either take care of a question/concern/inquiry or find someone who can," wrote one of Gupton's nominators. "She is an effective leader who motivates and encourages the staff to be good citizens of the department."

Another nomination stated, "The standards that she sets in terms of tone, spirit and quality of support are the firm foundation on which our other team members operate. She is the source of much of the productivity as well as the feelings of camaraderie, generosity and sensitivity that radiate from the department office."

The Outstanding Staff Employee of the Quarter award recognizes UW staff members for their efforts toward excellence in the workplace.

Nominees can be any UW staff employee and must receive three nomination forms from three separate individuals. Nominations must be submitted to the Staff Senate office. The forms are on the Web at www.uwyo.edu/StaffSenate/Outstanding.asp.
