The University of Wyoming Alumni Association is now accepting scholarship applications from in-state and out-of-state high school students, community college transfer students, current UW juniors and seniors and graduate students.
Recipients must attend UW's Laramie campus, be enrolled full-time and maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA (3.0 for graduate students) during the course of their enrollment.
Applications and supporting materials must be received by the UW Alumni Association by 5 p.m. March 11.
In- and out-of-state applicants must be spring high school graduates in the top one-third of their graduating class with a minimum ACT composite score of 20 and/or a minimum SAT score of 1,100. Students must be active in extra-curricular activities, have two letters of recommendation and provide a brief statement indicating why they wish to attend UW.
Out-of-state scholarship recipients must be children of UW alumni. Community College Transfer scholarships of $1,500 annually are given for two years. The junior/senior scholarship and graduate student scholarship is $750 for fall 2011 and spring 2012 semesters.
Additional scholarships for high school students, grandchildren of alumni, UW junior or seniors and various license plate-funded scholarships also are available.
