January 13, 2011 — "N*GGER WETB*CK CH*NK: The Race Show" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, in the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

The Los Angeles Times called the show "jaw dropping ... infectious ... explosive ... inspiring." Performed by three UCLA graduates, "N*GGER WETB*CK CH*NK: The Race Show" is a hilarious glimpse into the three racial slurs that have had such an impact on their lives, and on our culture.
Performers insist that "we must talk about these words to create change: We have the right to use them, because they have been used against us. But our use is going somewhere new."
A weekend performance for friends that started out with such low expectations has now become a crowd-pleasing production. With the combination of ensemble work, monologues, slam poetry, and stand-up comedy, these three graduates have created a powerful yet comedic statement.
"Our philosophy is that there shouldn't be words out there floating around that can bring people to their knees by just saying them out loud. We take them on and try to help people get over them a bit. Humor is a great vehicle for doing that" says "The Race Show" performer better known as Miles.
Each year Cultural Programs, the university's concert series, brings a variety of internationally known performers to campus.
