WPM Has Another Successful Statewide Membership Drive

April 4, 2011

Wyoming Public Media reached its $295,000 Spring Membership Drive goal Friday after just 61 hours of on-air fund raising.

With the future of federal funding for public broadcasting under debate in Washington, WPM Development Director Peg Arnold says "listeners rallied to support public radio in Wyoming."

WPM includes three radio stations: Wyoming Public Radio, Classical Wyoming and Jazz Wyoming. This spring's drive excelled at fundraising on all three signals simultaneously.

"We made a combined appeal to listeners across our three networks," says Arnold. "It is something few public stations have accomplished and we hope it will be a model for our drives in the future as we work to spend less time on air fundraising and more on providing excellent programming."

A service of the University of Wyoming, Wyoming Public Media includes: Wyoming Public Radio which airs news from National Public Radio and the BBC, Classical Wyoming with 24/7 classical music and Jazz Wyoming with 24/7 jazz.
