Local Students Receive Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival Scholarships

The University of Wyoming's Theatre and Dance Department has awarded scholarships to young performers to attend the university's annual Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival.

Students participate in 11 days of intensive study with distinguished faculty from around the country. Festival activities include seminars, student performances, lectures and two evenings of discussion with teaching faculty.

Scholarships were awarded to the following students:

Bozeman, Mont. -- Cecilia Heck, Main Street Dance Theatre.

Brigham City, Utah -- Andria Johnson, Infinity Dance.

Buckley, Wash. -- Samantha Ryan, The Ballet Workshop.   

Centennial, Colo. -- Arianna Hartanov, Cherry Creek Dance; Samantha Warner, Academy of Colorado Ballet.   

Cheyenne -- Anne Chenchar, En Avant.

Denver, Colo. -- Nina Bartell and Emma Knor, Cherry Creek Dance.

Fort Collins, Colo. -- Marissa Beccard, Mountain Kids.

Laramie -- Sarah Kirkpatrick, Laramie Dance Center.

Lawai, Hawaii -- Annalissa Hartsell, Kauai Dance Theatre.

Lyman -- Emily Brumbaugh, UW T&D.

Nuuk, Greenland -- Alexander M-Andersen, Bärdar Dance Academy.

Rapid City, S.D. -- Heidi Carlson, Avery Lux and Annaliese Ptacek, Academy of Dance Arts.    

Terra Linda, Calif. -- Dan Higgins, UW T&D.

Thornton, Colo. -- Kaitlyn Lawrence, Denver Dance Starz; Kadin Mestas, Academy of Colorado Ballet.

Torrington -- Taylor Kath, 28th Ave. Dance Studio.

Windsor, Colo -- Alexis/Lexi Reeder, Inertia Performing Arts.

Scholarships were awarded after an audition process and are provided by long-time dance festival supporters at UW, in the Laramie community and by additional donors in the state of Wyoming and beyond.
