UW Auxiliary Services: Limited Parking Around Ivinson Building, on Lewis Street
August 15, 2011 — Parking around the Ivinson Building at 10th and Ivinson streets and on Lewis Street between 9th and 11th streets will be limited during ongoing construction projects that will stretch into the school year.
The University of Wyoming Division of Auxiliary Services urges faculty and staff to find alternative parking, possibly at the Wyoming Union lot, or to use the university's transit service that includes shuttle transportation from the South Express Lot at 15th Street and Spring Creek Drive or the Express Lot at 30th Street and Willett Drive. Detailed maps and schedules of UW parking lots and transit routes are available at http://www.uwyo.edu/tap/Maps/index.html.
The Ivinson Building, a former Laramie hospital that has been a UW facility since the 1970s, is in the process of deconstruction, temporarily eliminating 33 parking spaces and all parallel parking spaces on the south side of Ivinson Street.
Following deconstruction, UW plans to create about 75 new parking spaces in the building's footprint.
Lewis Street remains closed between 9th and 11th streets during construction of the Energy Resources Center (ERC), scheduled for completion in summer 2012, and for landscaping work near the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center. Parking is limited in areas around construction of the ERC, including the drive on the west side of the Engineering Building.
