UW Classes Will Begin Aug. 22

University of Wyoming fall semester classes will begin Monday, Aug. 22.

Students will be able to move into UW residence halls starting at 7 a.m. Thursday, Aug., 18. Freshman students living in the residence halls and their parents are invited to the Washakie Center's Welcome to Wyoming Dinner beginning at 3 p.m.

President Tom Buchanan will welcome freshmen at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 in the Arena-Auditorium as part of the Summit Transitions Program.  Buchanan will also host a free welcome barbecue at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, in Fraternity Mall.

Many activities are scheduled during the summit, designed to help freshmen gain important knowledge about their transition to UW and have fun while interacting with their peers. The program features guest speakers and small group time with returning students and faculty focused on academic support and strategies for successful transition.
