UW to Recognize College Colors Day

August 18, 2011

University of Wyoming students, alumni, faculty, staff and fans are encouraged to wear UW merchandise Friday, Sept. 2, for the seventh annual College Colors Day.

The event coincides with both the return of students to campus and the beginning of intercollegiate athletics, says Barbara Jordan, UW Trademark and Licensing office manager. She says UW joins other universities nationwide to celebrate the achievements of colleges and universities and recognize their critical and fundamental importance to the United States.

"Think of it as a dress rehearsal before the kick-off of college football season, a reason to meet friends at your favorite watering hole to talk Cowboy football, or even an opportune time to start a friendly rapport with those Rams and Falcons who reside in the Front Range. They'll be celebrating College Colors Day, too," Jordan says.

UW opens the 2011 football season Saturday, Sept. 3, with a 7 p.m. home game against Weber State.
