Renowned cellist Zuill Bailey will open the University of Wyoming's fall Cultural Programs series at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the UW Fine Arts concert hall.

Tickets, $18 for students and senior citizens and $22 for others, can be purchased at the UW Fine Arts box office.

"Bailey will perform all six of the Bach suites for solo cello, considered among the monuments of Western music and available on CD," says Cultural Programs Director Cedric Reverand. "Bailey's Bach suites immediately soared to number one on the classical Billboard charts."

Performing with orchestras ranging from the Chicago, San Francisco, and Toronto Symphonies to the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic, Bailey has considerable talent and experience.

"Bailey's impressive discography includes collaborating with such artists as Itzhak Perlman, Lynn Harrell, Janos Starker and Leon Fleisher and recordings of the complete Beethoven works for cello with pianist Simone Dinnerstein," Reverand adds.
