The cigar box fiddle is among the many recycled instruments on display in Gallery 234 in the University of Wyoming Union. A reception and sustainability forum are scheduled Tuesday, Sept. 20.

An exhibition reception and sustainability forum are scheduled Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the University of Wyoming. Both events are free and open to the public, and food will be provided at the reception in Gallery 234 in the Wyoming Union lower level.

The reception from 6-7 p.m. will celebrate the current Gallery 234 exhibition "Sustainability and the Arts." The exhibition features instruments made with recycled items by artisans in the St. Louis area, and is sponsored by the Green Strum organization. Green Strum co-founder Ryan Spearman will answer questions about the project and instruments.

Following the reception, from 7-9 p.m., Gallery 234 will host a sustainability forum in the West Union Ballroom on the Wyoming Union second floor.  Spearman and other panelists will lead an open discussion of issues surrounding sustainability and the local economy, and panelists will discuss actions that can be taken to improve these issues.
