Domestic Abuse Consultant Lundy Bancroft to Speak at UW

Author, workshop leader and domestic abuse consultant Lundy Bancroft will be the keynote speaker for Domestic Violence Awareness Week, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom. This event is free and open to the public.

With 20 years of experience specializing in interventions for abusive men and their families, Bancroft trains professionals on the best practices for intervening with male perpetrators of violence against women and on the dynamics of emotional injury and recovery of children caught in the middle of domestic disputes. He also emphasizes the necessity to support healing and empowerment for abused women, stressing the importance of advocating for the human rights of women and children.

Bancroft will also speak to high school students, community responders and SAFE project clients about interpersonal violence, best practice intervention and how to work most effectively with victims.
