UW Hockey Club Settles for Weekend Split
The University of Wyoming hockey club defeated Dordt College but lost to the University of Colorado-Boulder last week in American Collegiate Hockey Association play.
In the Cowboys' 8-4 win Thursday night over the Blades at the Laramie Community Ice and Event Center, Ethan Crockett (Cheyenne), Taylor Freeman (Parker, Colo.), T.J. Peters (Jackson) and Tyler Roberts (Douglas) each had a goal and an assist.
Craig Luplow (Banner), Sam Dielwart (Calgary, Alberta), Billy Ross (Boulder, Colo.) and Levi Wood (Cheyenne) also netted goals for UW. Jake Bates (Jackson) recorded three assists and Dan Lang (Casper) helped on a pair of goals.
Ian Gonnella (Jackson) and Mitch Nelson (Sheridan) also had assists. In goal, Jordan Grove (Pinedale) earned his second victory of the season.
Peters scored the Cowboys' lone goal in an 8-1 loss Saturday night at the Colorado Recreation Center.
UW (2-4) hosts the University of New Mexico for a pair of games this weekend. The teams meet at 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
