UW Racquetball Club Competes at First Tournament

November 17, 2011

University of Wyoming Racquetball Club competitors won the top three places in the gold division at this year's opening competition against the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Cliff Peterson, a master's degree student in finance from Fort Collins, Colo., earned a first place finish. Taylor McCort, a mechanical engineering sophomore from Rock Springs, won second place in the division. Charles Torrance, an astrophysics sophomore from Cheyenne, placed third. Clareesa Zook, a biology senior from Casper, won her first match, but lost the next two.

"This was the first club tournament competition for Taylor and Clareesa so it was great to have them gain some experience and do so well," says Lena Newlin, racquetball club adviser.
