UW students Receive $411,900 in Agricultural Scholarships
More than $411,900 in Brand of Excellence Scholarships was presented to 201 students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources this year at the University of Wyoming.
The scholarship funds are from program donors.
Jim Wangberg, associate dean and director of the Office of Academic and Student Programs, said a record 381 people attended the scholarship program Oct. 7. Wangberg dedicated the evening to retired professor Joseph Kunsman, former associate dean of Academic and Student Programs.
"Joe Kunsman was the visionary who made this banquet possible," Wangberg told the crowd. "He organized the first event in 1982 when others said such a college event would never gain support. Tonight is a tribute to the difference one person's vision can make."

"I am so grateful and appreciative of all the people who support this event," Wangberg said. "The night is a celebration of not only the student recipients but also a celebration of their families and loved ones, the scholarship donors and the college faculty and staff members dedicated to our students' success. The one staff member deserving special thanks is Kelly Wiseman, program event planner and coordinator and an advocate for students throughout the year."
