UW President Tom Buchanan Appears on Wyoming PBS Program Tonight

January 6, 2012

University of Wyoming President Tom Buchanan will appear on Wyoming PBS tonight on the public TV station's "Wyoming Chronicle" program.

The interview with Wyoming PBS producer Geoff O'Gara airs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6. Wyoming PBS can be found on various channels across Wyoming; for more information, check local listings, or go to www.wyomingpbs.org for a complete schedule of channel numbers.

After a decade of unprecedented growth, Buchanan tells O'Gara in the interview that UW is getting noticed nationally for its programs in energy, agriculture and even the arts. Buchanan points to the NCAR supercomputer, the new School of Energy Resources and the Hathaway scholarships as key elements in attracting more students and more qualified faculty from around the world.

Buchanan also discusses the university's ambitions for the future. Among the priorities for funding at the Legislature this winter are additional buildings and salary increases for staff.
