Katie Boom’s “Sideshow America” at UW’s Gallery 234
April 12, 2012 — Katie Boom's exhibition, "Sideshow America," can be seen through Wednesday, April 25, in Gallery 234, Room 004, in the lower level of the University of Wyoming Union.
The exhibition portrays social issues in America through the lens of a circus sideshow. It features traditional circus sideshow posters, with the "circus freaks" represented by common minority groups in today's culture.
"By showing many facets of American culture in this light, the artist hopes to show the intolerance that leads to many of these issues remaining unresolved," says Sarah Brown, student gallery coordinator.
