Popular Colorado musician Rob Drabkin will perform a free show from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, on the University of Wyoming Simpson Plaza.

A Denver native, Drabkin received his first electric guitar when he was 11 years old, sparking his passion for music. He studied biochemistry and molecular biology in college. But following a trip to New York City to visit his father’s old jazz friends, Drabkin says he was inspired to make a drastic career change and pursue music full time.

Heavily inspired by jazz music, Drabkin has achieved some major musical accomplishments, including performing for a sold-out crowd at Film on Red Rocks. Westword Magazine named him Colorado’s Best Singer/Songwriter in 2008-2010.
