University of Wyoming fall semester classes will begin Monday, Aug. 27.

President Tom Buchanan will welcome freshmen at 7 p.m. Aug. 23, in the Arena-Auditorium as part of the Summit Transitions Program. Buchanan also will host a free welcome barbecue at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, in Fraternity Mall.

Many activities are scheduled during the summit, designed to help freshmen gain important knowledge about their transition to UW and have fun while interacting with their peers. The program, focused on academic support and strategies for successful transition, features guest speakers and small group time with returning students and faculty.

A schedule of summit activities can be found at https://www.uwyo.edu/summit/schedule/index.html.
