The exhibition, “Such is Life,” is about preserving a person’s stories and the impact it has on a family and community.

A closing reception is scheduled Friday, Oct. 19, from 5-7 p.m., with a presentation and book reading beginning at 6 p.m.

A Jackson native, Brackin graduated from the University of Oregon in 2008 with a degree in international studies. He also is the author and illustrator of “The Indomitable Spirit of a Seed” (2011) and “The Unpredictable Course of Passion” (2011). His preferred mediums are watercolor and ink.

“The show offers a message about the importance of preserving our memories and stories as well as the memories and stories of others,” says Ashley Dallum, Gallery 234 coordinator.
