You’ve seen them on campus and around Laramie. They are even starting to show up on flag posts in other communities around the Cowboy State.

Now, you can get one of your own.

The UW Pride flags -- with a gold background featuring Wyoming’s trademark bucking horse and rider logo, along with the words “UW Pride” -- are now on sale at the UW Bookstore.

The flags each cost $15.99. In addition to being available at the bookstore on UW’s campus, the flags may be ordered online at http://www.uwyobookstore.com/.

"We are thrilled to see the interest in purchasing these flags, and excited the bookstore wanted to participate,” says UW Institutional Marketing Director Montica Willmschen. “Flying a UW Pride flag is a great way to show support for the university.”

Launched in 2007, the Poke Pride campaign began with placement of flags and yard signs on campus and across the community on UW athletics game days. The effort has since evolved into a statewide UW Pride initiative that transcends athletics and fosters a sense of togetherness between Wyoming’s university and its far-flung communities. It includes yard signs, billboards that crisscross the state, and a marketing component that includes videos and other materials to support UW President Tom Buchanan’s vision and goals.
