September 17, 2012

The 2012 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report for the University of Wyoming is now available. To access the report, go to www.uwyo.edu/uwpd/_files/docs/2012securityreport.pdf.

"Each year, we publish this guide to security at the University of Wyoming," says Michael Samp, UW police chief. "It is intended to provide essential information regarding the university's security-related services, programs, fire safety, policies and statistics about the occurrence of crime on and around our campus."

Pursuant to the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, as amended, also known as the Clery Act, the report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning crimes that occurred on the Laramie campus; in certain off-campus buildings or properties owned or controlled by the university; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

Institutional policies concerning campus safety and security -- such as policies about sexual assault, drug and alcohol use and other matters -- also are included.

Copies can be obtained by writing the University of Wyoming Police Department, 1426 E. Flint, 1000 E. University Dept. 3124, Laramie, WY 82071; or by calling (307) 766-5179.
