Wyoming State High School Football Championship Results

The University of Wyoming is playing host to the Wyoming State High School Football Championships for the fourth consecutive year Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10. Following are results from the title games:

Dubois Captures First State Title

Nov. 9, 2012 -- Top-ranked Dubois capped an undefeated season Friday, capturing the 1A 6-man championship 54-30 over Little Snake River High School of Baggs.

The Rams won their first-ever football championship and finished the season 11-0. The Rattlers, the defending state champions, ended with a 9-2 overall record. Both losses were to Dubois.

Powell Repeats as 3A State Champions

Nov. 9, 2012 -- Powell won its second consecutive state 3A championship Friday, coming from behind in the fourth quarter, downing Star Valley, 13-10.

The top-ranked Panthers scored with just over five minutes in the game after trailing for the firs time all season. Powell ended the season with an 11-0 record.

The second-ranked Braves lost to the Panthers for the second time this season and finished at 9-2.

Lyman Takes State 2A Championship

Nov. 10, 2012 -- Undefeated Lyman High School scored with 43 seconds in the game to claim the 2A state championship 22-20 over Lovell Saturday.

The top-ranked Eagles drove 79 yards after intercepting a Bulldog pass with less than four minutes to play. Lyman, 11-0, avenged last season's loss to Lovell in the title game.

The Bulldogs ended the year 9-2, with both losses to Lyman.

Southeast Stuns Niobrara County for 1A Crown

Nov. 10, 2012 -- Southeast High School of Yoder stunned top-ranked Niobrara County High School Saturday 40-6 to claim the 1A 11-man state championship.

The Cyclones captured the school's ninth state championship and first since 2009. Despite three losses this season, Southeast finished with seven victories and were the lowest seed among the 10 state championship teams to compete this weekend.

For the Tigers of Lusk, it was the first loss of the season. Niobrara County finished with a 10-1 record.

Natrona County Wins 4A State Championship

Nov. 10, 2012 -- Natrona County High School finished an unbeaten season Saturday night, crushing Gillette 35-7 for the 4A state title.

The Mustangs, 12-0, scored three times in the second half to turn the game into a rout. The state title is the 16th in school history.

The Camels, 9-2, scored a late touchdown to avoid the shutout. Both losses this season were to the Mustangs.
