Guest pianist David Korevaar performs a solo program, “Bach and After,” Thursday, Feb. 7, in the University of Wyoming Fine Arts concert hall. The performance, part of the UW Department of Music Faculty Recital Series, is free and open to the public.

The program celebrates the release of Korevaar’s new CD of Bach's six Partitas. The program will include the first two Partitas, along with works by Romantic composers Johannes Brahms and Cesar Franck, which showcase Bach's influence on their music.

Korevaar, whose playing has been called a “musical epiphany” by Gramophone Magazine, has an extensive and varied repertoire enhanced by his work with living composers and his experiences writing music.

He balances his active career as a soloist and chamber musician while teaching at the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he is the Peter and Helen Weil Professor of Piano. A Julliard graduate, Korevaar has performed all over the world and has recorded 26 albums of both solo piano music and collaborative chamber music.
