These are among the construction activities scheduled April 7-13 at the University of Wyoming:

The UW Facilities Planning Office reports the following activities for the week:

Biological Sciences Building Mechanical Modifications (Scheduled completion mid-August) -- The building’s mechanical system will be extensively modified over the next several months. The contractor will begin limited work this month and start the rest of the work May 15. Staging will be established around the perimeter of the building and in part of the Ivinson Parking Area. These areas will be fenced off sometime before May 15.

College of Education Annex Canopy and Connection (North of Education Building and east of Education Annex; scheduled completion August 2013) -- Construction activities have commenced on the project, including the erection of fencing and temporary barricades defining the construction and staging areas. Vehicular access and parking availability in the lot north of the Education Building will be limited throughout construction and will be subject to frequent revision as construction activities dictate. During construction, pedestrian access to the north entrance of the Education Building and the east entrance of the Education Annex will be maintained; however, ongoing construction activities will require access to be limited to designated pathways. Pedestrians and motorists should exercise caution in the area.

Education Annex – Literacy Research Center and Clinic (Lower floor, Education Annex; scheduled completion January 2014) -- The lower (first) floor of the Education Annex is closed for construction. Asbestos abatement is scheduled to be completed by April 5. Vehicular and pedestrian access on the west side of the Education Annex may be limited during abatement. Limited and sporadic pre-construction activity at the project site may occur before the start of renovation construction in mid-May.

University of Wyoming/Casper College Student Union (UW/CC Student Union, scheduled completion November 2013) -- The primary building enclosure is complete, allowing interior construction activities to proceed on or ahead of schedule. Rough-in construction is generally complete throughout UW/CC third- and fourth-floor spaces, and preliminary finish construction has started. Overall project construction is approximately 75 percent complete.

Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center (22nd and Grand, scheduled completion fall 2014) -- The construction fence and trailer installation continues around the site at 22nd and Grand Avenue, and the southeast portion of the War Memorial Stadium parking lot and the south portion of the Summit View lot along Arrowhead Drive. Once abatement work is complete, deconstruction will begin.

Performing Arts Center (Fine Arts Building, renovation and expansion, scheduled completion December 2014) -- The parking lot on the east side of the UW Performing Arts Center is closed. It is being used for construction staging and will be converted into a green area following construction. Building visitors should use the lot on the north side of the building. Those entering the Performing Arts Center must now enter through the doors on the west side of the building. This will be the entrance for all building operations, including classes, ticket purchases and performances. The temporary classroom trailers are being installed on the far east end of Fraternity Mall. Deck construction and electrical connections will take several days. Abatement will continue in the northeast classrooms. Water and electrical service will be temporarily shut down in some areas of the building. Temporary partition installation will continue. The south exit ramp construction will continue. Deconstruction equipment and activities will occur later in the week.

Energy Innovation Center (formerly ERC, at 1020 Lewis St.) -- Lewis Street remains closed during construction. The School of Energy Resources and Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute are now located in the EIC. First- and second-floor labs are being occupied. Access to main campus now includes the passage between Engineering and the new EIC, along with access between Earth Sciences and the Berry Center. Access to the EIC north entrance will be on Lewis from the east along Lewis. Parking will be limited in areas around construction. Work on the third-floor lab and 3-D visualization space will be ongoing. Congestion and traffic on Lewis continue. Watch for UW and contractors’ trucks and equipment.

White Hall Renovations -- New installations continue on the second through eighth floors. Rough-in installations continue in the basement and first floor. Window replacement is complete on the second through 12th floors, and first-floor work will start this week. Punch-lists are complete on the ninth through 12th floors. The new east entry concrete slab is complete, with metal framing to start this week. Fencing is placed around the area. The west parking lot will be closed until late summer.

ESCo Project (Energy Services Company) -- Long Energy Services Co. employees and contractors will work on lighting retrofits in Old Main April 8-12. This will have some impact on occupants. Workers will wear identifying badges.

Enzi STEM Facility (Lewis Street between 10th and 11th streets, scheduled completion June 2015) -- The contractor is exacting for buried foundations. Watch for heavy truck traffic on Bradley Street.
