Graphic Designer Work on Display in UW Gallery 234

April 17, 2013

“Graphic Designers’ Portfolios and Real World Applications” -- by Emily House, Jessica McKibben and Kira Cheshier -- will be displayed through Friday, April 26, in Gallery 234 in the lower level of the University of Wyoming Union.

A reception will take place in Gallery 234 April 26, from 5-7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

“This exhibition combines the work of three graphic designers to give insight into designers’ portfolios and show how design affects real world situations through process, concept and design phases,” says Ashley Dallum, Gallery 234 coordinator.

She says the exhibition shows a variety of styles and processes due to the differences in the three designers. However, all three strive to create innovative designs that push the limits of conceptual print and packaging design.

“Simply, design can enhance an experience and create an emotional connection between subject and viewer,” Dallum says. “Through these samples of work, the designers show that design is a tool for service and advocacy. “

Individuals who need assistance to attend the event should call the Campus Activities Center at (307) 766-6340. For more information, visit www.uwyo.edu/cac.
