University of Wyoming Calendar for April 8-14

April 5, 2013 — These are among the activities scheduled April 8-14 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, April 8, 6 p.m. -- Biodiversity guest lecturer, Polar Bears International chief scientist Steve Amstrup, “Polar bears and climate change,” Room 138 of the Berry Center. Free.

Tuesday, April 9, 3:30-5 p.m. -- Polar Bear Extravaganza for children grades K-8, UW Berry Center. Free.

Tuesday, April 9, 7 p.m. -- Laramie Bikenet and UW Outdoor Program movie: “Reveal the Path,” Classroom Building Room 129. Free.

Tuesday, April 9, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents violinist Ray Chen, Fine Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $20 for the public and $17 for UW students.

Wednesday, April 10, 7:30 p.m. -- Collegiate Chorale in concert, Fine Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $10 for the public, $7 for senior citizens and $6 for UW students.

Wednesday, April 10, 8 p.m. -- Comedian Josh Rabinowitz, Wyoming Union Ballroom.  Free.

Thursday, April 11, 2 p.m. -- Museum of Natural History researcher Mark Moffett will discuss “Empires of the Ants: Social Complexity Among the Ants,” UW College of Agriculture auditorium. Free.

Thursday, April 11, 7 p.m. -- The Justice Monologues, multimedia presentations about young survivors of sex trafficking, UW College of Agriculture auditorium. Free.  

Friday, April 12, 5 p.m. -- Reception for Felicia Follum’s Gallery 234 exhibition “#TheLilyPadProject,” Wyoming Union lower level. Free.

Friday, April 12, 6:30 p.m., 9 p.m., 11:30 p.m. -- Friday Night Fever movie: “Silver Linings Playbook,” Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.

Friday, April 12, 9 p.m. -- Friday Night Fever: Stevie Starr, The Regurgitator, performs in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. Free.

Saturday, April 13, 2 p.m. -- Indian Awareness: Yoga for a Cause, Wyoming Union Room 212. Donations welcome.

Acclaimed violinist Ray Chen will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the UW Fine Arts concert hall.
