UW Outreach School Dean Candidates Interview This Week

Members of the university community this week are invited to participate in public forums and then offer input on the candidates for the position of dean of the University of Wyoming Outreach School.

The position is open because longtime Dean Maggi Murdock will leave the job at the start of fall semester 2013, when she assumes full-time duties as a professor of political science.

The three candidates, chosen from a slate of applicants reviewed by a committee chaired by Dean of Education Kay Persichitte, are: Anne Alexander, director of UW International Programs; Susan Frye, UW professor of English; and Brent Pickett, professor of political science and associate dean of the UW Outreach School.

Each candidate will participate in a set of interviews, including the following public forums, where they will offer presentations on these topics:

Tuesday, April 30, 3-4 p.m., Berry Center auditorium

“The Outreach School: Growing, Building, Developing”

Susan Frye

Wednesday, May 1, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Berry Center auditorium

“UW and MOOCs”

Anne Alexander

Thursday, May 2, 2:40-3:40 p.m., Berry Center auditorium

“Meeteetse to Munich: Providing Education Without Borders for Wyoming”
