Fourteen UW Employees Graduate from UW Leadership Academy

Fourteen University of Wyoming employees graduated from the inaugural UW Leadership Academy May 14. The ceremony took place at the American Heritage Center.

The goal of the UW Leadership Academy is to develop and enhance the skills of current and future leaders at UW. In keeping with the university’s mission, the UW Leadership Academy is an opportunity for the personal growth of individuals with recognized potential to further the university’s commitment to integrity, scholarship and service to the university community and state of Wyoming.

The Leadership Academy develops participants’ leadership skills; promotes peer-to-peer relationships; creates mentoring opportunities; enables participants to better contribute to the strength of the university; focuses on the university’s mission and vision; and helps the university carry out its mission through better equipped leadership.

“Leadership is a wonderful opportunity to invest in our current and future leaders at the University of Wyoming,” says Richard DelaCastro, director of UW Human Resources.

--Crystal Bennett, manager, Central Scheduling.

--Darcy Bryant, business manager, executive; Physical Plant.

--Jennifer Dawn Chavez, project manager, information technology; Information Services.

--Joshua Decker, manager, Real Estate Operations.

--Steven Farkas, director, College of Business Career Center.

--Nancy Ann Fox, director, Environmental Health & Safety.

--Greg Livingston, assistant manager, Procurement Services.

--Deborah McCarthy, head, technical services; Coe Library.

--Maggie Morrison, director, IT Client Services.

--Debra Reed, associate director, Financial Aid.

--W. Reed Scull, director, Division of Outreach Credit Programs, and Associate Dean.

--Montica Wilmschen, director, Institutional Marketing.

--Shaun P. Ziegler, assistant director, Auxiliary Services.

The next UW Leadership Academy begins this fall. The target group is UW employees at the assistant director/dean level and above.
