The all-woman band SHEL returns to perform its unique style of music during the University of Wyoming Summer Programs concert series Wednesday, July 31, from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. in Simpson Plaza.

SHEL consists of sisters Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza Holbrook, a quartet of classically trained musicians from Fort Collins, Colo. Experienced in a variety of instruments including violin, bass, piano, mandolin, cello and drums, the sisters of SHEL provide a sophisticated, yet youthful style of music that is both eccentric and entertaining.

“Nestled within SHEL’s enveloping sound are wisps of folk revival, vaudeville, renaissance fairs and steam-punk esthetic blur around one another,” says Patricia Rader, UW Summer Programs coordinator. “Their music is as beautiful as the players themselves. Their performance will be one of the best you’ve ever seen.”
