University of Wyoming Calendar for July 8

These are among activities scheduled July 8-14 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, July 9-Saturday, July 13, 7:30 p.m. -- The Snowy Range Summer Theatre presents Greg Hinton’s “Waiting for a Chinook: A New Play About Old Newspapers” in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts (formerly Fine Arts Building) Studio Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for the public and $7 for students, senior citizens and children over 5. Wednesday, July 10, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- University of Wyoming singer/songwriter Doug Balmain will perform in the Summer Programs concert series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Wednesday, July 10, 7 p.m. -- "What in the World?" -- summer program faculty presentation. David Messenger, UW departments of Global and Area Studies/History associate professor, will discuss “Memory of the Spanish Civil War and Contemporary Nationalism in Catalonia,” Centennial Branch Library. Free.

The UW Art Museum, located in the Centennial Complex at 2111 Willett Drive, is open Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.

The UW Geological Museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. weekends. Free.
