Aziz Ansari, Rolling Stone’s “Funniest Man under 30,” will perform Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. at the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Tickets for UW students go on sale Monday, Sept. 23, for $20. Tickets for non-students go on sale Monday, Sept. 30, for $30. Tickets can be purchased at the Wyoming Union Information Desk, the Performing Arts box office or online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Ansari co-stars with Amy Poehler in the Emmy-nominated NBC series “Parks and Recreation.” His role in the show has earned critical praise, including Entertainment Weekly naming him one of its “Breakout TV Stars.” TV Guide described him as a “scene stealer,” and People Magazine named him 2011’s “funniest dude in prime time.”

Ansari’s voice was featured in the Twentieth Century Fox animated film “Epic.” He also has appeared in “This is the End,” “Get Him to the Greek,” “I Love You, Man,” “Observe and Report” and “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”

“A lot of students can relate to him and his comedy. I saw him perform last spring, and he was phenomenal,” says Jennifer Kirk, Campus Activities Center assistant director. “He interacted with the crowd a lot, and I think the students will appreciate the interaction.”

Ansari was on the cover of Rolling Stone’s special comedy issue, and The Hollywood Reporter says Ansari “has become one of the most prolific writers and performers on the comedy scene in recent years.”
