October 8, 2013 — Breakfast will be served on the lawn at Prexy’s Pasture from 8-10:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11. University of Wyoming employees, alumni and students are invited to enjoy hot beverages, a continental breakfast and brown and gold swag.
UW President Robert Sternberg is scheduled to join Pistol Pete and the UW cheerleaders on the lawn just past 9 a.m.
Breakfast on the Lawn began in 2011. The College of Engineering and Applied Science partnered with the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Education, Business and Health Sciences, along with the School of Energy Resources and the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, to host this event.
“It’s a way to thank the employees of UW for the work that they do and provide a relaxed opportunity to socialize with colleagues, alumni, students and friends of the university,” says Baillie Miller, UW College of Engineering and Applied Science external relations coordinator.
Diana Waggener, UW College of Art and Sciences editor and public relations director, says, “Breakfast on the Lawn is an example of the growing unity among various UW units across campus. We hope all UW employees will come out for at least a few minutes to say ‘howdy’ to old and new friends.”
Sponsors for the 2013 Breakfast on the Lawn are the colleges of Engineering and Applied Science, Arts and Sciences, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Education, along with the School of Energy Resources, Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, University Libraries, American Heritage Center and the UW Pride Committee. Turtle Rock Cafe caters the event.
