University of Wyoming Calendar for Oct. 21-27


October 18, 2013 — These are among activities scheduled Oct. 21-Oct. 27 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Oct. 21, 7:30 p.m. -- Oasis Saxophone Quartet will perform in the Buchanan Center for Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

Tuesday, Oct. 22, 6 p.m. -- Award-winning author Walter Echo-Hawk , who is an attorney, tribal judge, activist and law professor, will speak in the College of Law, Room 178. Free. For the full schedule of events during Law Week, click here.

Tuesday, Oct. 22, 7-8 p.m. -- Michelle Forsyth gives a visiting artist talk in the Visual Arts Building, Room 111. Free.

Wednesday, Oct. 23, 11:30-2 p.m. -- UW Nursing and Health Professions Career Fair in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. Many services will be free, but others will cost a small fee.

Wednesday, Oct. 23, noon-1 p.m. -- Law Week program: Panel discussion on rural law practice, College of Law, Room 170. Free.

Wednesday, Oct. 23, 6 p.m. -- Law Week program: University of Utah Law Professor Bob Keiter, “Unimpaired: The Evolution of the National Park Idea,” College of Law, Room 178.

Thursday, Oct. 24, 6:30-8:30 p.m. -- Taewon Jang gives a visiting artist talk in the Visual Arts Building, Room 111. Free.

Thursday, Oct. 24, 7 p.m. -- Cowgirl volleyball vs. San Jose State at the UniWyo Sports Complex. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Thursday, Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m. -- Bel Canto Women's Choir and the UW Singing Statesmen, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

Friday, Oct. 25, noon-1 p.m. – Law Week program: Domestic violence panel: Perspectives from the prosecution and defense, College of Law, Room 178. Free.

Friday, Oct. 25, 7 and 11 p.m. -- “Kick Ass 2” will be shown in the Wyoming Union lower level. Free.

Friday, Oct. 25, 7-8 p.m. -- Planetarium show. Cost is $3 for students and $2 for non-students. Enter through the southwest door of the Physical Sciences Building. Free.

Saturday, Oct. 26, 6 p.m. -- 20th Annual Art Museum gala and fundraiser in the Wyoming Union Ballroom.

Saturday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. -- Comedian Aziz Ansari will perform in the Arts and Sciences auditorium. Tickets cost $20 for students and $30 for non-students.

Saturday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. -- Cowgirl volleyball vs. Fresno State at the UniWyo Sports Complex. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Sunday, Oct. 27, 1 p.m. -- Cowgirl soccer vs. UNLV at Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Sunday, Oct. 27, 3 p.m. -- Faculty showcase recital featuring music of Chopin and Brahms, Buchanan Center for Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

Sunday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m. -- Evan Bradley, senior music education percussion recital, Buchanan Center for Performing Arts concert hall. Free.
