University of Wyoming Calendar for March 3

These are among activities scheduled March 3-9 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, March 3, 8 a.m-5 p.m. -- “Meeting the Body in Space: Healing Self/Healing” and other exhibits in the Wyoming Union’s Gallery 234. Free.

Tuesday, March 4, 5-6:30 p.m. -- Biodiversity Movie Night presents “Botany of Desire,” Berry Center Room 138. Free.

Tuesday, March 4, 7 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Utah State, Arena-Auditorium. Tickets cost $13 for adults and $7 for youths.

Thursday, March 6, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. -- Ceramics Art Guild cup and bowl sale fundraiser, Visual Arts Building main lobby.

Thursday, March 6, 2:45 p.m. -- French Film Series presents “8 Femmes,” Classroom Building Room 129. Free.

Thursday, March 6, 5 p.m. -- Spanish Cinema Club presents “La Lengua de las Mariposas,” Classroom Building Room 221. Free, refreshments.

Thursday, March 6-Saturday, March 8, 7 p.m. -- The Stop Violence Project presents “The Vagina Monologues,” College of Education auditorium. Cost is $5 for students and $10 for non-students.

Thursday, March 6, 7 p.m. -- The Cooper House film series “Songs in Films” features Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket,” UW Cooper House. Free.

Thursday, March 6, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Symphony Orchestra presents “Variety is the Spice,” with guest harmonica performance by Gregoire Maret, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Tickets are $10 for the public, $7 senior citizens and $6 students. Friday, March 7, 6-8 p.m. -- Opening for student exhibition featuring work by Chloe West and Lisa Zirbel, Visual Arts Building. Free.

Friday, March 7, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “Spring Star Gazing” followed at 8 p.m. by “Led Zeppelin Unbound.” Tickets for each show cost $3 for adults, $2 for students and free to children under 12. Enter through the southwest doors of the Physical Sciences Building.

Friday, March 7, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents Grammy Award-winning jazz harmonica player Gregoire Maret, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $22 for the public and $18 for students and seniors. Saturday, March 8, 2 p.m. -- Cowboy basketball vs. Colorado State, Arena-Auditorium. Tickets cost $22 for adults and $14 for youths.

Sunday, March 9, 3 p.m. -- Faculty Recital Series presents “No Strings Attached: Music for trumpet, clarinet and piano,” Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum in the Centennial Complex, 2111 Willett Drive, open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Mondays from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Free.
