March 10, 2014 — The University Store in the Wyoming Union will be closed March 17-21 (spring break week) to walk-in traffic, but the store will resume standard operating hours (Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.) Monday, March 24.
To minimize impact to campus, staff will be available to process departmental orders during this time. Orders may be placed via phone (766-3222), email (firstname.lastname@example.org), or online at www.iteminfo.com. The orders will be delivered by store personnel.
The goal of this remodeling is to update the store to better serve the changing needs of the campus community and to address maintenance issues such as wear and tear on flooring, says Manager Misty Eaton. She says the store was last remodeled 12 years ago during the renovation of the Wyoming Union. A few notable items that will change with this remodeling include the relocation of the front register counters, an expanded electronics area, revised traffic patterns and the installation of updated, energy-efficient lighting.
“We want to continue to deliver a positive in-store shopping experience to our customers and understand the importance the physical environment plays within a store,” Eaton says.
Completion of the remodeling by Laramie contractor Arcon Inc. is anticipated in late April, and is being performed in three phases. Phase I, lower level/textbook area; Phase 2, east half of the store’s main level; and Phase 3, west half of the store’s main level.
