April 30, 2014 — Wyoming’s controversy over the Next Generation Science Standards for K-12 instruction is not surprising. Opposition to evolution is not new but stems from a widespread theological hostility to evolution within evangelical Christianity. In recent decades, that antagonism has been expressed politically. Legislatures in nearly every state have passed laws addressing the teaching of evolution in schools.

UW Alumni Association Scholarship Dinner and Auction Set For April 11 in Cheyenne

April 4, 2014 — The University of Wyoming Alumni Association’s (UWAA) 23rd annual Scholarship Dinner and Auction, presented by Infinity Power and Controls, is slated for Friday, April 11, at 6 p.m. at Little America in Cheyenne. The proceeds will be used to fund UW student scholarships awarded by the Alumni Association.

Wyoming, UW Finish Collecting Cloud Seeding Statistical Information

April 4, 2014 — A cloud-seeding research project originally commissioned by the state of Wyoming nearly a decade ago and involving the University of Wyoming has been completed -- at least on the statistical gathering front.
