Release Time for UW Staff Recognition Day Wednesday

University of Wyoming President Dick McGinity has granted up to two hours of release time to attend Staff Recognition Day that begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the Crane-Hill dining hall. More than 275 employees will be honored at the event.

The scheduling of release time should be a collaborative discussion between employee and supervisor to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the unit.

The annual event will feature refreshments, door prizes, entertainment and a raffle for three prizes, as well as years of service recognition and staff awards. The announcement of the 2013 Employee of the Year, who is selected from among four quarterly winners, will be among the event’s highlights.

Additionally, 56 individuals who have worked at UW for at least 20 years will be honored, and more than $18,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to outstanding staff members.
