UW Employees Honored at Staff Recognition Day

Bill Finnerty, a facilities/grounds attendant with Custodial Services, today (Wednesday) was named the University of Wyoming's outstanding employee of the year during the annual Staff Recognition Day at UW.

He was named from among four individuals who had been selected for UW’s Outstanding Employee of the Quarter Award that recognizes excellence in the workplace.

Dozens of employees were honored for their years of service and contributions to UW. Sponsored by the UW Staff Senate, with support from the UW Office of the President, Staff Recognition Day encourages and acknowledges the work of all UW staff members.

Susie Hooker, Cashier’s Office head cashier, and Linda Osterman, Research Services manager in the Research and Economic Development Office, each received the E.G. Meyer Family Outstanding Staff Service Award.

The Jody K. Humphrey Inspirational Staff Award recipient was Juanita Carroll, Accounting Office accounting manager.

Vince Bath, Auxiliary Services Director’s Office accountant, received the Pete Simpson Golden Gloves Award.

UW Staff Incentive Awards were presented to Rob Bennett, IT Client Support Services computer support specialist; Erin Dobyns, School of Nursing assistant project coordinator; and Rick Walters, American Heritage Center senior photographic technician.

The Skilled Crafts Award was presented to Dylan Whitmer, Electrical Shop electrician.

Winner of the Skilled Services/Maintenance Award was James Moultan, Facilities/Grounds Residence Life and Dining Services assistant supervisor.

Unsung Hero full-time awards were presented to Tom Barnett, Outreach Credit Programs office associate; and Amanda Larson, Wyoming Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit accountant.

Unsung Hero part-time awards went to Kim Glidden, Department of Botany greenhouse assistant; and Clayleen Rivord, office associate for the departments of Philosophy and Religious Studies.

UW Off-Campus Staff Awards were presented to David Lutterman, livestock manager at the Laramie Animal Science Livestock Center; and Tanya Sell, coordinator of student advising at UW-Casper.
