Stone masonry work on the monument sign that will read located at the corner of 22nd and Grand Avenue is complete and precast concrete will begin installation next week. Site work on the south side of the building is ongoing and currently consists of the installation of underground electrical and placement of landscaping boulders. Please use alternate routes through the Wyoming Union or between the union and Coe Library. Heavy truck traffic, including construction materials transport, concrete trucks and other haulers, will be frequent on Willett Drive west of 15th Street and along the perimeter of the Wyoming Union parking lot. As anticipated by the recent temporary expansion of the construction and staging area along the pedestrian pathways north of Half Acre Gymnasium between Prexy’s Pasture and Willett Drive, including the closure of portions of the Lab School playground through approximately Aug. 1, a sub-phase of the reconstruction/addition has begun to build-out the northwest structural steel frame and concrete slab-on-grade and slab-on-deck adjacent to the retained existing stone walls. Pedestrian access in this vicinity will remain open; however, the construction effort on this sub-phase will result in increased congestion.

Site improvement work will commence early to mid-July on Willett Drive west of 15th Street and along the north perimeter of the Wyoming Union parking lot. Vehicular access in these areas will remain open; however, temporary detours will likely be required. Temporary traffic controls and signage will be established as needed by specific site activities.
