University of Wyoming faculty and staff members are invited to an open house Friday, Aug. 1, from noon-1:30 p.m. in the East Ballroom of the Wyoming Union, Room 220C, to learn about and provide feedback on UW’s efforts to update the university’s 1999 historic preservation master plan.
The university has commissioned a consultant specializing in the development of historic master plans for university campuses. The consultant will conduct an assessment of all of the buildings constructed before 1980 on UW’s main campus.
The consultant also will assist in developing a policy pertaining to the review of proposals to deconstruct any building that the study determines to be historic, and to assist the university in developing minimum architectural design standards for new and renovated buildings that preserve UW’s classical architecture tradition.
Those unable to attend the meeting can attend a similar session at 7 a.m. that same day in the conference room of the Wyoming Technology Business Center.
UW’s Facilities Planning Office is coordinating the sessions.
