UW Extension Offers Leadership Course on Wind River Indian Reservation
University of Wyoming Extension will offer leadership classes on the Wind River Indian Reservation beginning in September.
The three-session “Be the Change Leadership School” will meet once a month.
Attendance at all three sessions is encouraged, says Tina Russell, a UW Extension community development educator who offers the course with fellow educators Hannah Swanbom and Tara Kuipers. Participants who are employed should have the support of their employer to assure participation in all class days, she says.
Sessions are 10 a.m-4 p.m. at various locations on the reservation. Swanbom says a detailed schedule with locations will be sent by email before each class. Lunch and additional materials will be provided each session.
Dates, leadership topic and community focus are:
Friday, Sept. 12 -- Personality and leadership skills; water and natural resources.
Friday, Oct. 17 -- Responsibilities of leadership; economic and business development.
Friday, Nov. 14 -- Community leadership; adult and higher education.
Registration is requested by Monday, Sept. 1. For more information, contact Russell at (307) 332-2135 or firstname.lastname@example.org; Kuipers at (307) 527-8560 or email@example.com; or Swanbom at (307) 235-9400 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
