Entrepreneur Steve Lynott to be Guest Speaker at e2e Laramie Meeting Sept. 24

September 4, 2014

An entrepreneur responsible for more than a dozen startup companies during his career will be the guest speaker at e2e Laramie’s meeting this month.

Steve Lynott, currently managing director of CoVergence LLC and senior adviser to 1901 Group, a venture he started in 2010, will speak Wednesday, Sept. 24, 5:30-7 p.m., at the Laramie Hilton Garden Inn.

Lynott will share his stories about his business ups and downs, and lessons he learned from working on more than a dozen startups.

“Steve has a penchant for innovation (learning faster than the competition), for finding unique ways of funding a venture and for demystifying the sales process,” says Heather Marie Fleming, assistant director of the University of Wyoming’s Wyoming Technology Business Center (WTBC). “Most notably, he will share insights from his failures as well as from his successes in working on over a dozen startups in consulting, software, publishing and information technology.”

Lynott began his career as marketing director at Unysis Corp. He then founded, grew and successfully sold Touchstone Consulting Corp., a management consulting company. Touchstone specialized in executive consulting for government, state agencies, financial services, non-governmental organizations and industry associations.

E2e is an educational networking program with chapters in Laramie, Casper, Gillette and Sheridan. It is designed to improve the climate for the startup and growth of entrepreneurial companies. Each e2e chapter meets bimonthly for 45 minutes of networking, followed by a 45-minute program. The programs include successful entrepreneurs telling their stories, panel discussion on relevant topics and advice from experts in a specific business.

Administered by UW’s Office of Research and Economic Development, the WTBC is a not-for-profit business incubator at UW that provides entrepreneurs with the expertise, networks and tools necessary for success. It launched e2e as an educational networking program.
