Workshops Set for Faculty Planning First-Year Seminar Proposals

University of Wyoming faculty members planning to submit proposals for first-year seminars can receive assistance in an upcoming workshop.

The presentation will cover the philosophy behind the first-year seminar at UW, research on best practices in first-year seminars, and assist with course design and the course approval process.

Presenters are Kari Morgan, UW’s first-year seminar coordinator, and Meg Flanigan Skinner, Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning director.

The workshop is offered three times:

-- Thursday, Sept. 4, 9 a.m.-noon, Wyoming Union 203 (Bighorn Room).

-- Monday, Sept. 22, 1-4 p.m., Coe Library 506.

-- Monday, Oct. 6, 1-4 p.m., Coe Library 506.

-- Sept. 10, 1-3 p.m., Coe Library 510F.

-- Sept. 11, 9-11 a.m., Coe Library 510F.

-- Sept. 17, 10 a.m.-noon, Coe Library 506.

-- Sept. 18, 9-11 a.m., Coe Library 506.

-- Sept. 22, 9-11 a.m., Coe Library 506.

-- Oct. 1, 9-11 a.m., Coe Library 506.

-- Oct. 2, 3-5 p.m., Coe Library 506.
