The Danish String Quartet is scheduled to perform Friday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall as part of the University of Wyoming’s Cultural Programs fall concert series.
Tickets cost $20 for the public; $17 for seniors, faculty and staff members; and $10 for students. Tickets are available at the Wyoming Union and Performing Arts box offices or by calling (307) 766-6666.
Playfully, the group calls itself “your friendly neighborhood string quartet with above-average amounts of beards.”
High technical and musical quality, the joy of playing, the powerful impact the quartet makes on stage and the fresh approach to familiar repertoire have become the group’s trademarks. These qualities have led the quartet to widespread success. The four young musicians have performed throughout Europe.
“They bring a freshness and energy, plus a level of sheer accomplishment that I don’t ever remember hearing in these works,” says David Fanning of Gramophone.
