New Program Offers UW Students Opportunity to Comment on Issues

A new online platform, WyoVocal, provides an opportunity for University of Wyoming students to comment on issues they feel need to be addressed on campus.

Students can access the online platform at http://wyovocal.uservoice.com, and also through a new portal access on WyoWeb. It allows students to vote to support or comment on issues submitted through the platform. Associated Students of UW (ASUW) President Ahmed Balogun and Vice President Ricardo Lind-Gonzalez established WyoVocal to give students an opportunity to provide feedback to student leaders.

“The ASUW student government will be able to more effectively gauge students’ opinion on campus issues through the unique opportunity WyoVocal provides,” says Robert West, ASUW director of institutional development. “WyoVocal serves to hold all ASUW student government officials more accountable to the University of Wyoming student population.”

To promote the launch of the new platform, students who submit, vote or comment on WyoVocal this week will automatically be entered into a drawing for prizes, including an Altitude Chophouse and Brewery gift certificate, UW Outdoor Program equipment gift certificate or ASUW/UW gear package.

The week will conclude with a tie-dyeing celebration Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Skylight Lounge. ASUW will provide free shirts for students to tie-dye, but participants may bring their own clothing items. Activities will conclude with a random drawing of raffle prize winners who interacted on the WyoVocal platform throughout the week.
